싱어 송라이터인 재니스 이언은 1951년 5월 7일생이다.

그녀는 1967년 첫 앨범을 발표한 이래 지금까지도 꾸준하게

활동을 하고 있는 미국의 장수 가수이자 진정한 뮤지션이다.

1970년대 재니스 이언의 전성기의 시작을 알렸던 이 앨범에는 타이틀곡으로 Stars와 로버타 플랙이 다시 불러서 히트를 시켰던 Jessie가 수록되어 있는 1974년 작품으로서 긴 설명이 따로 필요없는 명반중의 명반이다.Stars 앨범속의 아름다운 멜로디와 의미심장하고 세련된 가사가 어우러져 있는 그녀의 곡들은 언제들어도 시대를 초월한 아름다운 음색을 발현시켜 준다.
