악당으로 나오는 전형적인 007시리즈물...

샌프란시스코에 지진을 일으켜 실리콘밸리를 물에 잠기게 만든 뒤 자신이 보유한 마이크로칩을 
비싼 값에 팔려는 악당의 음모를 막는 007의 활약을 다루었다.
악당의 음모가 황당한 탓인지 이야기의 집중도도 떨어지고 특수장비 등 볼거리도 별로 없다.
특히 그레이스 존스가 악당의 부하였다가 죽기전 007을 돕는 또다른 본드걸로 나오는데, 
악역으로 제법 연기도 빛났다

주제곡은  007 시리즈 주제가 사상 처음으로 빌보드 차트 1위를 차지함
